Mission

HAFLS' mission is to encourage and develop enjoyable learning and achievement for Hertfordshire residents in particular those who are most in need and/or have the least opportunity to achieve formal and informal qualification. We will provide access to a wide range of high quality affordable learning opportunities to learn and acquire new skills, throughout their life, that will enable them to lead healthy, independent and fulfilling lives, actively contribute to local communities and benefit from employment opportunities created by Hertfordshire’s growing prosperity.

HAFLS is funded by the Skills Funding Agency and European Social Fund to deliver community learning courses for adults, young people and families across Hertfordshire.

HAFLS subcontracts learning providers in Hertfordshire to deliver some of these courses on their behalf. Those learning providers are responsible for delivering courses to a high standard. HAFLS quality monitors subcontracted provision to ensure it meets the requirements of OFSTED and the Skills Funding Agency.

If you, as learners, have any concerns or issues, please raise these in the first instance with your learning provider. You can also contact HAFLS on 01992 556194 or hafls@hertfordshire.gov.uk
